About John Westmoreland

John Westmoreland is an eclectic songwriter and musician who’s performed across the US, and internationally in Europe, South America, and West Africa. His guitar playing is masterful on both electric and acoustic guitar, and his voice is a deep baritone with shades of Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan. With a repertoire that includes delta blues, folk, jazz, classic rock, Americana, R&B, world music, and Bach his diverse performances are sure to captivate audiences.
John is now based in Helsinki, Finland where he made headlines in 2024 for his performance with Hollywood actor Jared Leto’s pop band 30 Seconds to Mars. He performs regularly as a solo artist and has recently begun collaborating with Pia Pelkonen’s Allegros Quartet. His most recent original recording project is built around the music and poetry of his Finnish-American ancestor Matti V. Huhta, who was better known as the mysterious hobo songwriter T-Bone Slim.
